HUMAN DESIGN BREAKDOWNS: PAMELA ANDERSON

Human Design Breakdown: Pamela Anderson

From her days as Baywatch’s blonde bombshell in the 90s, to her fresh faced and heart centred living in the now - Pamela Anderson has always been an icon. She’s a 6/2 Sacral Generator and as a 6/2 Profile myself, she’s become my favourite example in the public eye of what it looks like to take the journey ‘off the roof’ - cultivating all the wisdom she’s gained across the three phases and truly stepping into her authentic personal power as a result. It’s funny because I constantly see celebrity accounts talking about her ‘comeback era’ - but IYKYK when it comes to that 50+ phase for a 6th Line and she is absolutely slivvinnggg in hers.

If you’ve seen her recent Netflix Documentary - Pamela, A Love Story - you’ll know a little bit about her personal journey and the winding path she’s taken to land into this version we see today. As a Generator, she’s built a lengthy career based on the things that bring her Satisfaction, she’s followed her gut towards the things that are ultimately right for her (despite any public perception) and she’s embraced every layer of the 6th Line journey and used the wisdom to her advantage, now taking the time to share that with others though her newsletter, books, shows and social musings.

In her design she also has the Channel of Preservation, which deeply cares about people and making sure that we take the action that will make a difference for the next generation. Pam is a passionate activist and I think she uses the fuel from that channel and her Sacral Energy to continue to champion for the causes that move her. We definitely see that Hermit (2nd Line Profile) at play as well, balancing both public and private life off the grid (love seeing her earthy homebody images!). I can’t wait to watch her continue to bloom and bring her natural talents, passion projects and 6th Line wisdom to life.

She’s a Generator.

The Generator is one of the five energy types in Human Design, representing about 37% of the population. Generators are known for their consistent access to life force energy when they’re doing the things that light them up and bring them their Signature, Satisfaction. They are designed to respond to life, meaning that their true power comes from waiting for the right opportunities that give them an ‘mmmm!’ expansive feeling in the body. By tuning into their physical responses, Generators can ensure they are making decisions and commitments that align with their authentic selves, leading to a more fulfilling and purposeful life.

Pam has demonstrated a relentless pursuit of her passions, fuelling her success in various endeavours from acting to activism. She’s also known for her magnetic presence and ability to captivate audiences and exudes the life force characteristic that are often common with Generators. I often say that because of how the Generator Aura works (open and enveloping), it’s like throwing a giant energetic hug into the environment around you. It’s basically saying, ‘This is so exciting! Get in here with me!’. Her recent cookbook is a great example of this - titled, ‘I Love You - Recipes From The Heart’. I meannnn…if that isn’t some Generator love right there! Passing on the joy that she’s received from a simple pleasure straight to you.

When you see her speak, she really does have a childlike joy and radiance about her and in so many different ways she shares here desire to be doing the things she loves or that bring her pleasure in some way. Her unwavering vitality and enthusiasm for life, living and doing the things that bring her joy serve as a prime example of the potent and engaging energy that Generators are known for in Human Design.

I’ve created my own career in life and I’ve had a lot of fun doing it.

She’s a 6/2 Profile.

In Human Design, the 6/2 Profile is known as the Role Model/Hermit. Those with this profile have a mix of being a natural leader and a lone wolf - often retreating into the privacy of their own energy and then coming into the public eye with wisdom to share. People with a 6/2 Profile often have a magnetic presence and can inspire those around them to embrace their unique and authentic journey in life (which Pam definitely embodies so beautifully!). The 6th Line Profile lives life in three distinct phases:

0-30: The first phase of the 6/2 profile is about trial and error, exploring different experiences and paths to find what truly resonates with them. This phase can involve a lot of first hand (sometimes messy) growth, but ultimately leads to a deep understanding of life and a sense of experiential wisdom. We see this in her documentary where she discusses the personal challenges of her early life, jumping into modelling, acting, fame, Baywatch and the rock & roll Tommy Lee days. There’s a lot of seemingly ‘accidental discoveries’ - bumping into life and life bumping into you - and things kind of just ‘happening’ in this era which when you watch her speak about this phase, that definitely was how a lot of her early career and life transpired.

30-50: The second phase is about taking a step back a bit (going ‘on the roof’) to integrate the lessons learned and begin to share their profound insights with others. This phase often comes with a lot of healing, learning new skills, gaining objective wisdom and planting seeds that will harvest in the final phase. What’s really interesting at the turning point for this (aged 30), theres a theme of ‘bonds made and broken’. Quite often for 6th Lines, they’ll break away from some of the things that no longer serve them from the first phase. At age 29, the sex tape was released (1996) and in 1997 (age 30) she took a step back from Baywatch to focus on family life. By 1998, Tom & Pam had divorced and she had officially begun her accent onto the roof. When you start looking into the public life of 6th Lines, this process is like CLOCKWORK with all of them (including myself!).

50+: What I lovingly refer to as the ‘Oprah Phase’ because this is where the two flavours of wisdom - subjective and objective - really integrate into a powerful blend that is here to model what it looks like to be a completely authenticated, individual human being living life on their own terms. We can see this in SO MUCH of everything Pam is bringing to the world now and one of my favourite moments of this was going makeup free at fashion week. Although some people may see that as a small event, to me it represented so much more. It was her saying, I love me, I accept me, I am no longer controlled by public image and i’m doing it on my terms.

As a 6/2 Profile myself, I have absolutely loved studying the journey of 6th Line Profiles and Pam has become my favourite to watch because of how beautifully she has embodied the journey coming off the roof and into full bloom. There’s a moment in her documentary Pamela, A Love Story where she’s been living in this remote part of Canada, very much at the beginning of the final phase and she’s having a conversation with one of her sons about taking a part on Broadway. And he says to her he thought she just wanted to live a quiet life away from it all and she replies something along the lines of just feeling like she’s ‘ready to be back out in the world again’.

That moment was really the beginning of her transition off the roof and so representative of the reemergence that happens in that final phase. I joke that it’s somewhat like the American tradition of Cotillion, we come down the stairs off the roof and make our grand entrance back into the world. Since then we’ve seen her bring so many beautiful heart centred, authentic projects to life - from her cookbook, documentary, cooking show, tv series, a memoir, earthy garden living, skincare collabs, fashion and going makeup free often, her 6th Line wisdom musings in her newsletter, as well as her continued activism. She’s really living TF out of the 6/2 and i’m here for it.

I’m on a mission to love, give as much as I can, and support people who make a difference.

She’s a Sacral Authority.

In Human Design, the Sacral Centre is considered the seat of vitality and life force energy. Those with a defined Sacral Centre are designed to make decisions in response to their gut feelings and is known as the Sacral Authority. The Sacral Authority is guided to make decisions based on whether it has an "uh-huh/mmm" (yes) or "ugh" (no). By listening to the body's visceral response, those with Sacral Authority can tap into a deep well of personal clarity and make choices that are aligned with their authentic selves.

Making authentic decisions is definitely something we have seen time and time again with Pam. I touched a little on it above but walking away at 30 from so much of what she had built her career and fame on probably didn’t make a lot of sense to people at the time, but it was the right path for her. Just as she chose to live a quiet life for a time and how she has reentered the world now with a series of projects that probably contrast the image that people had held in their head of her - but it’s right for her and she follows her gut and lives the path most true to her. Even deciding to do the documentary, she said she wanted to tell the story on her terms, rather than the worlds. The same with her activism, she makes the continual choice to back the causes that move her. It’s inspiring and empowering to watch.

It’s funny that when we follow our own path, our intuition and our own heart - it genuinely touches people.
