What do kids and animals have in common? (Other than apparently you shouldn’t work with either in showbiz?) They both release emotion from the body IMMEDIATELY as it happens. Yet as adults we tend to avoid this, avoid being in our bodies and suppress our emotions until they manifest in other (often ineffective) ways.

  1. The quickest (and most fun in my opinion!) way to change our state and drop in to the body is through DANCE. So pop on your favourite song and just let it rip!

  2. You could do a primal scream (screaming in to a pillow or in your car from the belly and just letting it all out). Set an intention for what you want to release and allow this to come through.

  3. You could do breath work like box breathing or if you can get to a breath work class I would highly recommend it!

  4. Meditation is HUGE in being present in your body and allowing the space for things to come through. YouTube has a wide variety of guided meditations to get you started.

  5. Grab a journal and write at the top of the page: What does my soul want me to know? Answer in free flow writing. Whatever wants to come through is here for you! Don’t judge, just release.

The main thing is just allowing your emotions to come out. Cry, laugh, scream. Just allow.
